How Can Brain Training Help?
At Brain Exercise Club, we help young school-age kids build strong cognitive skills early in life, which offers a lifetime of benefits. Students who develop strong learning skills at a young age can carry those skills forward into later grades and life after school. Getting a headstart on school readiness also puts kids at lower risk of falling behind their peers.
Middle school brain training is also great way to help your child with classwork and homework. By focusing on core learning and skills — like focus, logic, and processing speed — we give middle school students the tools they need to thrive.
We can also help college students become stronger learners and more independent thinkers. Rather than focusing on specific subject matter, we help college students learn more easily, think more quickly, and improve overall cognitive function.
BrainRx program is also available for adults who want to boost core brain skills like focus, memory, and thinking speed. It’s a great choice for anyone who wants to build stronger cognitive skills or simply wants to keep these skills sharp!
Who Can We Help?
Students Looking for an Edge
Is your child advanced in school who is already doing well and aspire to achieve even higher results and excel further? Students at Brain Exercise Club can benefit from custom training plans and one-on-one programs. Brain training helps students become stronger, more independent learners. This approach strengthens core learning, thinking, and studying skills in students. Brain training can make it easier to understand classroom content the first time, concentrate on homework assignments, or study for tests. We are targeting how a student learns as opposed to what the student learns.
Struggling Students
There are many students who struggle to learn even with adequate instruction. They are lagging behind their peers, struggling to cope with school work, trying to manage workloads of academic tests & projects, and need this extra push to put them on the higher end of the scale. More often than not, the root cause is weak cognitive skills. When left undiagnosed, it will result in poor academic performance, frustration, and low self-esteem.
Brain Exercise Club identifies the cognitive strengths and weaknesses of your child through the Cognitive Skills Assessment. Cognitive skills are the core skills the brain uses to think and learn, and explain why some students struggle to learn in various settings. These cognitive weaknesses can be strengthened through brain training. With stronger cognitive skills, students learn faster and easier, have better memory skills and concentration, improved academic and mental performance in school, sports and life. They will develop confidence, self-esteem and positive self-thought.
ADD/ADHD and Attention Issues
“ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active.” – Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Attention skills represent one of the seven core cognitive skills being strengthened by our program. For learners with ADD/ADHD, a brain training plan could focus on specific attention skills, such as how to stay focused for long periods or how to avoid mid-task distractions. Sustained attention (staying on task), selective attention (resisting distraction), and divided attention (splitting attention between tasks) are strengthened throughout the cognitive skills training. We can also work on strengthening skills like short-term memory, long-term memory, and mental processing speed, which can be tied to ADHD. Our programs use a wide range of activities designed specifically for attention skills, as well as other skills connected to ADHD.
Career Adults
Having a good education is not enough in landing a job in the competitive job market. Whether you aim to secure your first job, pursue your dream job, or move up the corporate ladder, what is your edge among other applicants? Research shows that with brain training, adults improved their average cognitive performance by +14 IQ points. The largest improvements for adults were seen in long-term memory, sustained attention, and processing speed (LearningRx).
Brain training concentrates on enhancing your cognitive skills for an overall better performance. In almost any career path, being able to think fast, learn quickly, process information logically and accurately, communicate well, and remember facts and procedures are critical for success and advancement.
Senior Citizens
“As we age, our brains change, but Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are not an inevitable part of aging. In fact, up to 40% of dementia cases may be prevented or delayed.” – Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
At Brain Exercise Club, the learner engages in a one-on-one dedicated brain trainer in order to enhance “brain skills,” which are the fundamental tools the brain uses to perform mental tasks, including learning, reading, remembering, and paying attention. Good mental performance improves quality of life at any age. Being able to think clearly, remember well, and continue to learn new things are foundational abilities that impact every area of life on a daily basis, and it doesn’t matter how old we are. Never stop learning as life never stops teaching.
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” – Henry Ford
