What is Brain Training?
“Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to change and adapt as a result of experience. It is also known as brain plasticity. Plasticity refers to the brain’s malleability, which is defined as being “easily influenced, trained, or controlled.” Neuro refers to neurons, the nerve cells that are the building blocks of the brain and nervous system. Thus, neuroplasticity is when nerve cells change or adjust. ” – VeryWellMind.com
Brain training, also called cognitive training, is a program with series of activities which aims to improve one’s cognitive abilities. At Brain Exercise Club, we create an individualized program consisting of game-like mental exercises that are challenging but fun. Brain training helps address the root cause of learning struggles by targeting and training cognitive skills. Each of your cognitive skills plays an important part in processing information. If any of these skills is weak, grasping, retaining, or using information is impaired.
How Does Brain Training Work?
Brain training works by challenging the mind, giving cognitive skills a workout. It is like going to the gym, but instead of working on the body, you work on the brain. When the brain works harder than usual, it starts to strengthen existing skills and develop new abilities. With targeted training and regular practice, learners can make dramatic gains in a relatively short period of time.
Training takes place in our center, using a unique combination of one-on-one brain training and digital training. A dedicated brain trainer will be assigned to you/your child who will work with you/your child throughout the program. Procedures are fun but challenging, incorporating intensity to strengthen your learning skills in an enjoyable and fast-paced fashion. Our brain trainers offer immediate feedback and encouragement during training sessions, helping learners stay energized, motivated, and confident!
Does Brain Training Really Work?
Research studies have found that brain training is effective in improving individual learning and thinking skills, like memory and attention. Studies have also showed that brain training has improved overall cognitive performance in kids and adults, as measured by IQ scores. LearningRx from Colorado USA developed the BrainRx program and is backed by 35 years of research, testing, and development to target underlying skills that are important in how one learns and performs. This program has changed the lives of over 100,000 learners all over the world. This program is evidence-based and published in various journals.
